Now you can experience the difference a Remote Trainer can make. At the push of a button, the remote sends a signal, activating your dog’s Receiver Collar from up to 350 m away. The collar delivers a safe, gentle static stimulation. Your dog will quickly learn the association between his behaviour and your training, making it easy for you to teach your dog new commands or better behaviour. The Elite Little Dog Remote Trainer is a reliable, versatile, easy-to-use tool to help you train your dog off-lead.
I was a little reluctant in buying this product as everyone said it is cruel to shock animals. But we were at our wits end. Our driveway runs into our backyard, so fencing wasn't an option. Chaining our dog up all day or putting her in a run seemed unfair as we have a large yard. We tried your trainer on my husband first and he couldn't even feel anything til level 9 and at that it is just barely a pulse. It is not a shock like an electric fence at all, and that is what I was told it would feel like to a dog. Our dog is a mixed breed and is very scent curious. Once she is on a mission... food, love, yelling, nothing works. We painted a line on our driveway and showed her that she could not go past that line. Prior to the collar, it was a free for all. If she was on a scent or saw another dog, she was gone. She would run across the line without pausing and run on the road. Last night she spotted a dog across our driveway on the road and ran full force to it. I was yelling for her to come, to no avail. As she crossed the line, I gave one quick pulse of the collar, and yelled NO. Her head came up and she ran back to me. It was as easy as that. We are outside with our dog all the time, and this has given me a peace of mind that I didn't think I would ever get with a non-fenced yard. Thank you, this is a great product!
> PetSafe Response: Hi Dawn, wow! Your story is truly inspirational and a great example of how you can train your dog and keep her safe with our Remote Trainer. Thank you for sharing your experience with us :)
I bought this to use when my dog barked at other dogs and people who were afraid of dogs after the spray collar didn't work. However by the time I actually was using it regularly (collar didn't connect because there was too much fur, I'd forget to charge it, I couldn't find the remote quickly, etc.) my mixed breed terrier didn't bark as much. However his recall was unreliable. I like to let him off lead so he can get more exercise but he wouldn't come even for a treat if there was something better going on - dead deer, squirrels, other dogs, etc. I was very reluctant to use it because I was worried it was cruel but he has much more freedom now because I can trust that he will come when he needs to. I haven't needed to shock him much at all (once a week or less) because he learned the consequences of not coming immediately. He still takes advantage if he doesn't have the collar on. I use the little collar although he is above the maximum weight limit by a few pounds. By the way I did go to special training for recall - he understands but he is a scent obsessed and wilful (but good natured). He had improved a lot by his third birthday but not enough for me to trust him. If used judiciously I think this is a great product when nothing else seems to work.
