ScoopFree® self-cleaning litter boxes can be left alone for weeks at a time. Simply plug in the box and watch it work. The automatic rake system sweeps waste into the covered compartment 5, 10, or 20 minutes after your cat uses the litter box. The timer will reset if the safety sensors detect that your cat has re-entered the box. The health counter lets you track how many times your cat has used the litter box to quickly identify possible health problems. The special crystal litter, packed in a convenient disposable litter tray, is 5 times more effective at reducing odour than clay or clumping litters. The privacy hood helps keep the litter in the box. Your cat will always have a clean, fresh-smelling litter box, and you’ll enjoy a home that’s effortlessly odour-free.
For best results, replace the litter tray every 20 - 30 days for one cat, every 10 - 15 days for 2 cats, or every 7 - 10 days for 3 cats. You might need to replace the litter tray more often if you have senior cats, kittens, or cats who eat a diet high in crude fiber, ash, and by products. ScoopFree™ litter trays can be used by themselves as portable, disposable litter boxes. Scoop the waste under the waste compartment or replace the tray when needed. Mix the litter daily to reduce odours. Most cats adapt quickly to using the ScoopFree™ litter box.
I purchased the above around 6 weeks ago from my local pets at home store.
After reading about this product I thought it would be perfect for my 2 cats, 1 11 months 1 3year.
However I must say I am bitterly disappointed with this product and also feel annoyed that the price paid for this product does. It reflect its use.
The tray needs to be cleaned every 4-6 days as it is totally full to the brim and at around £15-£16 a tray is extremely expensive where on the website it states around 10-15 daysfor 2 cats (please correct me if I am wrong)
It does not get rid of all of the waste it’s clings to the electric grate and also ends up all throughout the little tray, I have lost count how many times I have had to scrap Waste towards the compartment.
Supposedly it is odour reducing which is nonsense as it smells regularly and I find myself of my wife spraying air freshener around it.
I really wish I have not purchased this product.
Thank you for your review of the ScoopFree® Ultra Self-Cleaning Litter Box. We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the product. For two healthy adult cats, the crystals will last on average 10-15 days. As one of your cats is still young, 11 months old, this may mean the crystals will have to be changed more often. Please also ensure you have the product placed in a non-humid place to avoid the built up of odours. Also be aware that cats with diets high in crude fibre and ash content will produce more waste. This may fill the waste compartment quicker. Consider changing the cat’s diet to a brand with no by-products or fillers to prolong the lifespan of the crystals. Thank you again for your comments.
I have the plastic litter box that goes with the system instead of buying the throw away blue crystal boxes as they weren't cost effective for me as I have 4 cats. The only downside to having the plastic litter box is the cleaning and knowing how much litter to put into the box it probably cost me about £30 instead of £60+ a month so in the long run it's cost effective.
> PetSafe Response: Hi Charvi, thanks for sharing your feedback with us on the ScoopFree® Ultra Self-Cleaning Litter Box. At this moment I'm afraid the plastic litter box is currently not available to our customers in Europe. But thank you for your comments and I am glad you like the ScoopFree® Ultra and find it cost effective.
As a disabled person, i have been struggling to clean out our old litter tray 6 -8 times a day with our 2 6mnth old kittens. Decided to give this a go and even though it was expensive it has been well worth the money, i only need to clean the reservoir bit every 2-3 days just to empty the solids. the trays are lasting 10 days each time so overall it will work out slightly cheaper than the clumping litter we used. Oh and far less struggling and pain for me, so if you are dithering about this product i would say "go for it"!
> PetSafe Response: Hi Shon, your story and experience with the ScoopFree is fantastic, thank you for sharing with us and being so honest. I'm sure your review will help other customers in their decision making process; especially for people who need low-maintenance waste systems due to disability or reduced mobility. We're glad we could help :)
